Proshield are approved installers of the Topseal GRP fibreglass roofing system and are vastly experienced in providing flat roof solutions for domestic and commercial customers across the North West including the areas in and surrounding Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire, Wirral and Lancashire.
As a benchmark, we know the single biggest factor for success of any product depends on high quality installation. At Proshield we have demonstrated vast experience with the use of GRP roofing systems to ensure long term durability and high standards of workmanship. Given our experience, we are able to offer our customers complete peace of mind with product and workmanship guarantees of up to 30 years, with the added option of an underwritten insurance backed guarantee.
GRP Fibreglass roofing systems are produced from polyester based resins which are reinforced using a fibreglass reinforcement mat, this is liquid applied system which forms a continuous seamless waterproofing membrane, designed to provide long term waterproofing of flat, pitched or balcony roofs. Fibreglass roofing systems have become extremely popular over the past two decades due to the high life expectancy, in excess of 50 years, as well as the significant performance benefits of GRP such as foot traffic, UV and high impact resistance.
Our product of choice – Topseal is developed unlike other GRP fibreglass systems using a consistent blend of resin which is independently tested by the BBA. By this certificate provides complete assurances of durability. By comparison, non BBA products are often produced inconsistently from one batch to next resulting with unknown field performance.
Ideal applications for GRP fibreglass flat roofs for your home include Garages, Extensions, Dormers, Porches, Bay Windows, Orangeries or Balconies. GRP can also be used on larger commercial projects for refurbishment applications or new build construction. GRP can also be incorporated into a warm roof construction in order to meet or exceed building regulations.
Significantly, there are no hot works involved as a GRP fibreglass roofing system is cold applied, offering significant health & safety benefits when compared to traditional flat roofing materials.
GRP Fibreglass roofing systems are completely seamless, with no joins or welds and are available in a wide range of colour and finishes to suit client requirements.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE & LIFESPAN
The Topseal GRP fibreglass roofing system has been specially formulated to deliver maximum performance when used for roofing, balconies, walkways or green roofs. Every Topseal system is expected to last the test of time and is provided with a 25-year product materials and workmanship guarantee.
By extrapolating the results of 12-year advanced weathering tests, it is predicted that only 0.3mm of the surface layer would degrade after 50-years, with the product being able to provide all-weather performance long after this period.
BBA approval provides extra reassurance that materials used can be traced back to individual batches at source and proves that the product performance has been verified by laboratory testing, on-site inspection with rigorous quality control procedures in place. Topseal is also fire retardant and completely UV resistant, ensuring protection in the unlikely event of the roof being exposed to fire and is not degraded by exposure to the sun or high temperatures.
- Can be installed in temperatures as low as zero degrees
- Completely seamless – no joints or seams
- UV and chemical resistant
- Will withstand expansion and contraction caused by building movement
- Suitable for flat (zero falls) / pitched roof applications
- Full range of BS4800 or RAL colours
